I was born in a Bangladeshi village called Kadirpur in Kushtia district. I am a medical doctor by profession and currently working for UK National Health Service (NHS). Prior to this I also worked in Bangladesh, Iran and Pakistan as a medical doctor. I received early school and pre-university education in Bangladesh, medical graduation (MBBS) from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, a B.Sc. from Punjab University. Obtained Masters in Public Health (MPH) from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA in 1996 and Diploma in Dermatology from the University of London, UK. Along with medical profession, edited newspapers and wrote editorials, post-editorials and articles in various national and international newspapers and journals. Wrote scientific research papers on social science issues and presented in international conferences in Beijing, China in 1997 and Sau Paulo, Brazil in 1998 (International Union of Scientific Studies of Population (IUSSP) conferences)
